The Spanish ambassador in Baghdad visits the Naram-Sin Foundation to discuss ways to strengthen Iraqi-Spanish relations.

As part of strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Iraq and Spain, Her Excellency the Spanish Ambassador to Baghdad, Ms. Alicia Rico, visited the Naram Sen Foundation for Dialogue and Community Development today.

Her Excellency was received by Dr. Haider Al-Barzanji, President of the Foundation, Mr. Abbas Al-Ardawi, Vice President of the Foundation, in addition to members of the Board of Directors: Dr. Hashem Al-Kindi, Professor Salam Adel, Professor Hossam Al-Hajj Hussein, Professor Imad Al-Musafer, and a number of the Foundation’s staff.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between their countries, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the Iraqi and Spanish peoples. They also stressed the need for ongoing cooperation, communication, and the exchange of views between research institutions and universities in both countries, with the aim of developing and solidifying friendly relations and cooperation in various fields.

The members of the foundation listened to a valuable address by Ambassador Rico, in which she discussed the importance of relations between Iraq and Spain in the political, social, economic, and cultural spheres. Her Excellency noted Spain's and its people's respect for Iraq and its people, their deep appreciation for the Iraqi democratic experience, and her praise for Iraq's active role in combating terrorism, which contributes significantly to achieving stability and security in the region and the world.

This visit comes within the framework of joint efforts to enhance understanding and cooperation between the two countries, and to build bridges of friendship and fruitful partnership.
