Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the second Najaf-Erbil Forum held in Najaf Al-Ashraf, with the participation of scientific, scholarly and academic elites.

Dr. Haider Al-Barzanji, head of the Naram Sin Foundation, said: “We wanted to give a different picture, that the country is doing well and that the Iraqi components are engaging in dialogue. There are multiple messages that the forum wants to convey, including that through our unity we demonstrate our strength. This unity and strength is not only for internal purposes, but also to send messages to those outside who want to exploit this issue.”

The foundation's vice president, Professor Abbas Al-Ardawi, added that this forum is the second edition of the Kurdish-Shia dialogue, stemming from the historical roots of the two communities and their genuine partnership for the sake of Iraq's future and to formulate a strategy for the relationship that contributes to strengthening dialogue and social communication among the people of our one country.

Board member Professor Imad al-Musafir stated that it is crucial to have a direct dialogue bringing together Shia and Kurdish academic, intellectual, and media figures to discuss various issues, emphasize commonalities between the two sides, and explore ways to resolve differences through dialogue and understanding. He added that the Shia and Kurdish communities are integral components of the fabric of this nation and share a history of injustice resulting from the dictatorial political system that ruled Iraq in the past.
